Man United £250,000-a-week star set to commit his future to club

David de Gea insists he is happy at Old Trafford despite reportedly rejecting the Red Devils’ latest offer of a new contract.
The superstar is out of contract next summer, although Manchester United can automatically trigger an additional year, and Jose Mourinho recently insisted that an announcement was imminent.
The 27-year-old is widely regarded as the best goalkeeper in the world and wants a contract that shows that. However, he is still waiting to receive a new offer in that ballpark, with Ed Woodward reluctant to give the stopper the same salary as Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez.
Last month it was revealed that the Spaniard’s £350,000-a-week basic salary demand would make him by far the biggest earner at the club.

Speaking ahead of Champions League opener against Young Boys, David De Gea said: ”I feel really loved in this club from the fans, all the people who works for this club, so I’m really happy. It’s one of the best clubs in the world.

‘We want to improve in the Champions League. We know it’s a special competition. We are ready to do it, we have a difficult group. We start tomorrow in a difficult game but we want to start well.’
