Maurizio Sarri will have to go against his principles to finally drop Alvaro Morata

Maurizio Sarri has a very settled first XI, and he’s not a manager who looks to change up his team too much anyway. At Napoli he was famous for picking the same team over and over again.
At Chelsea he’s found his first team very quickly too. Apart from introducing Eden Hazard and Matteo Kovacic once they had regained fitness, he’s only really made one change: bringing Willian into the team for Pedro last time out.

But the pressure on the Italian to make a change might finally have become too much. He’s given Alvaro Morata a starting spot in every game so far, and he’s been rewarded with just one goal so far. Olivier Giroud has come on as a late sub in plenty of games and it’s hard to deny that he’s looked more dangerous in that time than his Spanish rival.

Will this be the week that Sarri finally accepts that he wants the big man up top? Even if it isn’t Morata is running very low on chances now surely.
