Sadio Mane beats Tottenham & Man City stars to a Premier League award

Liverpool’s Sadio Mane wins

It’s been confirmed on Monday.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has been crowned the PFA’s Premier League Player of the Month for August.

Mane beat off the challenge from five other players to the top prize.
The Senegalese international has begun the 2018-19 Premier League season with bang.

In August Mane struck three goals in as many matches.

He netted a brace against West Ham United in round one of the new campaign, while he scored another at Crystal Palace as Liverpool again took maximum points.
Mane has continued his excellent form into September.

Last weekend Liverpool won again at Leicester. Mane opened the scoring in a 2-1 away win.

Man City & Tottenham

Mane was battling against players from Man City and Tottenham for the PFA award.
Both Man City and Spurs had perfect records in August too.

Sergio Aguero and Benjamin Mendy were both in the running. Lucas Moura was included following his double for Spurs against Man United.


The two other players who lost to Mane were Cardiff’s Neil Etheridge and Roberto Pereyra from Watford.
