Chelsea Maurizio Sarri explains Loftus-Cheek snub

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has responded to why Ruben Loftus-Cheek was absent from the squad that hosted and defeated Arsenal on Saturday.

He responded that it was intentional and planned. The manager also made known the fact that sometimes he subscribes to having some specific combination on his bench.
For instance on Saturday Matchday, he decided to go with one goalkeeper, one defender, one fullback, one midfielder and two winger.
“It depends on the position on the pitch,” said Sarri.
“I prefer to have on the bench two wingers, and only one midfielder.
“So it depends on this. “Not any other situation.
“I needed on the bench one goalkeeper, one full-back, one centre-back, maybe two midfielders and only one winger.
“But [in training on Friday] I preferred vice versa, two wingers and one midfielder.”
This pattern can be altered depending largely on the opponent and the personnel available. Perhaps next game might see Ruben feature. The young Englishman has improved his game and in need for a look at.
Therefore, excluding the Englishman was premeditated by the trainer. He was sacrificed for Kovacic who joined from Real Madrid on loan and later made an impressive cameo from the bench.
Chelsea have claimed six points from available six. After overcoming Huddersfield, Arsenal came visiting and were also swept aside.

Morata and Pedro scored before half time before Marcos Alonso made sure of the whole points minutes before the end of the match.

Arsenal cancelled two of the goals but it wasn’t to be for the Gunners who have lost their second consecutive match in as many games.

Next up for the 2016 champions is Newcastle at St. James park.
