Jurgen Klopp Speaks Out After Champions League Draw

Liverpool head-coach Jurgen Klopp has described Ligue 1 giants PSG as “one of the most exciting teams in the world” and is looking forward to locking horns with French giants in the Champions League.

Thursday’s group stage draw saw the Merseyside Reds handed a tough proposition in Ligue 1 giants as well as last terms Serie A runners-up Napoli and Red Star Belgrade in Group C.

PSG and Liverpool have so far avoided one another in the Champions League with their last meeting at the European tournament has been held back in 1997, the Reds losing the semi-final 3-2 on aggregate.

The draw pits Klopp against new PSG head-coach and fellow German manager Thomas Tuchel, who replaced his compatriot as a head-coach of Borussia Dortmund and has managed also Klopp’s former team Mainz.

“PSG are one of the most exciting teams in the world and I think their target is to win the Champions League, so that will be two interesting matches,” Klopp told Sky Sports News.

“I am looking forward to watching PSG a bit more often, which is a very interesting project for sure over in France with Thomas Tuchel.

“Facing Neymar will be, for our Brazilian guys, like meeting a friend again and all that stuff. It’s a big challenge, but for all the others it is a big challenge to face us.”
