Rio Ferdinand Highlight Man United biggest transfer blunder

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has claimed Luis Van Gaal  in selling Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck, according to reports.
Over his two year spell, Van Gaal was one of the biggest spenders in the history of Manchester United but he also made some sales that involved some home grown players.

Welbeck and Cleverley found themselves as bit-part players during the reigns of Moyes and Van Gaal and they were allowed off the hook at the fortress of Old Trafford in the summer of 2014.

It was Sir Alex Ferguson that promoted the aforementioned pair to the first team of the Red Devils and they played a huge role in club’s conquest of the  2012/13 Premier League title.
“I’m fairly confident the likes of Cleverley & Welbeck who came through the Manchester United system would have been at the club longer if Sir Alex Ferguson had stayed as manager,” Ferdinand said.

“[They] were vital members of the squad that loved the club and know the DNA.”
Welbeck switched United for Arsenal in the summer of 2014 but he is neither here no there in terms of form. The 27-year-old star currently plays second fiddle at Arsenal and it is only a matter of time before he is sold.

Cleverley is currently with Watford and he is key figure for the side.
