Chelsea boss Sarri reveals Kovacic is ready to feature against Arsenal

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed that new signing Mateo Kovacic is in line to play some part in the London Derby against Arsenal tomorrow.

Kovacic joined Chelsea on loan from Real Madrid on deadline day, with Sarri confirming that he is ready to make his Blues debut tomorrow evening at Stamford Bridge, although the 24-year-old midfielder is not yet fit enough to play a full 90 minutes.

Sarri also admitted that he believes the highly-rated Croatia international will be a useful signing for Chelsea and that he believes Kovacic still has plenty of room for improvement.

“I think Mateo will be very useful for us. He’s a very technical player,” Sarri told a pre-match press conference.

“In this moment, he has to work. I think he’s not ready now for 90 minutes, but maybe, tomorrow, for the first 30 or the last 30 minutes he could be used. I expect a lot from him because, for me, he’s a very great player. In my opinion, he can improve more.
