Chelsea dealt blow in their pursuit of Serie A giants £80,000-a-week star

Serie A giants Juventus are refusing to sell reported Chelsea target Daniele Rugani at any cost this transfer market following the exit of his compatriot Mattia Caldara.
According to the Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted on Calciomercato, Rugani is considered ‘unsellable’ by the Italian giants’ hierarchy.

Chelsea had been strongly linked with a move for the Italian star and had agreed to personal terms over a five-year contract to move to Stamford Bridge.
Rugani, who fell out of favour at the Turin-based outfit, was expected to join the club as a result of the arrival of Maurizio Sarri, a manager he had worked with previously at Empoli.

However, the reported deal became complicated by the eye-catching swoops that saw Leonardo Bonucci return to the club and Mattia Caldara join AC Milan.

Caldara was expected to return to the Old Lady this summer and provide back-up to the three experienced defenders after a hopeful loan spell with Atalanta, but he was included in the Leonardo deal.

In spite of the arrival of Bonucci, Bianconeri do not want to lose two promising defenders in the same window.
