Done deal: Versatile defender seals Arsenal transfer

Arsenal youngster Krystian Bielik has joined Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan the club has confirmed. Bielik was signed in 2015 arriving then as the only signing in the winter transfer window from Legia Warsaw.

However, he has found first-team opportunities hard to come by making just 2 appearances for the Gunners both coming in the Carabao cup. He spent  2016/2017 season on loan at Birmingham City helping the club starve out relegation. Bielik also had an unsuccessful spell at Walsall last season due to Injury problems and would be eager to make up for lost times.

Charlton Manager Lee Bowyer spoke of his delight in acquiring the midfielder highlighting his flexibility as a key factor in securing the player. Bielik is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also fill in at centre back.

“He is someone that can protect the back four. He’s good on the ball, strong and he’s someone that can fill in at centre-half as well.
The 20-year-old would be eager to kick the ground running and impress for the club this season which could make him force his way into contention at the Emirates next season. Charlton would be hopeful that the polish u19 international can bring some stability to the midfield.

The league one club currently sit 11th on the standings after two games. Bielik would join the list of Arsenal players currently on loan.
