Manchester United chief travels to Spain to complete £35 million move for Barcelona star

Manchester United are close to completing the transfer of Yerry Mina after their chief negotiator, Matt Judge flew to Catalan to complete the deal.

The Red Devils’ fixer is reportedly ready to sort out every detail of the move and meet with the Colombian’s agent.

Manchester United have been looking for a new defender all summer after Jose Mourinho became unhappy with his current options. The Portuguese manager has targeted a number of Europe’s centre backs, but they have been priced out of a deal for each of them.

Harry Maguire was the latest name linked with a move to Old Trafford, but the England man has been valued at 65 million by Leicester City, a fee that has forced the Red Devils to look elsewhere.

Mina shined for Colombia at the World Cup. In addition to leading the defence, he netted 3 times in four games for the South Americans who crashed out on penalties to England in the round of 16.

Mina has been linked with Everton this summer also after Barcelona decided to cash in on the former Palmeiras man. His move would free up a non-EU spot in their squad for Malcom to be registered pending when Philippe Coutinho would get a European citizenship.
