Paul Merson states his prediction for Crystal Palace v Liverpool FC

Paul Merson has tipped Liverpool FC to beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

The Reds made a great start to the new Premier League season with a 4-0 win against West Ham United at Anfield last weekend.

Liverpool FC broke the deadlock thanks to reigning PFA player of the year Mohamed Salah in the first half.

Senegal international Sadio Mane scored twice in the second half to seal three points before Daniel Sturridge’s netted within 21 seconds of his introduction from the bench.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are sitting at the top of the Premier League table on goal difference thanks to their landslide victory over the Hammers in their curtain raiser.

Palace were 2-0 winners against promoted side Fulham in their Premier League opener at Craven Cottage to make a great start to the English top flight campaign.

Former Arsenal star Merson is confident that Liverpool FC will record back-to-back victories over Crystal Palace to maintain their position at the top of the table.

“What a game!” Merson told Sky Sports.

“This is a good game, Selhurst Park is a hard place to go, Palace won at Fulham but Liverpool were irresistible against West Ham.

“This is a big game for Liverpool, Man City will have already won and you’ve got to win these games if you’re going to win the Premier League. I think this is a difficult game for them but I’ll just go with Liverpool.”

Liverpool FC signed AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho, RB Leipzig star Naby Keita, Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker this summer.

The Reds lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last term.
