United offered sensational Midfielder

United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel by his club Tianjin Quanjian. The player is out to join another club but have a release clause of £17 million. The player is still subject to interest by Borussia Dortmund.

United have been quiet this transfer summer and news from Carrington base suggests that Mourinho wants a defender and an attacker.

With latest signing Fred in the mix, the chances of signing the Belgian looks slim, although the player provides a different dimension to what United currently have.

The 29 year old was the anchor man in Belgium midfield as they finished second runners up in the World Cup. He could serve as an excellent replacement for Micheal Carrick with his excellent passing and ability to recover the ball.

According to Tribalfootball, the midfielder might be out of Chinese league as he seeks a different challenge elsewhere.

The player was prolific for Zenith Saint Petersburg before his big money move to Chinese side – Tianjin Quanjian. The player has made 47 appearances for the Chinese side with 6 goals to his credit.

United Coach Jose Mourinho has voiced his frustration with the lack of transfer activity this summer after United board failed to approve move for his identified target.
