Better than Higuain? Chelsea working on deal for 41-goal forward as third summer signing

Chelsea’s transfer business is far from over, with comings and goings still to take place before the window closes.

And reports bandying about are saying that new boss Maurizio Sarri is eyeing a switch for Polish striker and Bundesliga goalscoring machine Robert Lewandoski.

Club record-signing Álvaro Morata has dipped in form since recovering from injury under former boss Antonio Conte, last season.

The Spaniard has struggled to get his A-game back and looks likely to leave the exit of Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea have been linked with a crop of top names as his replacement.  Argentine Gonzalo Higuain was linked with a move to join the English outfit, but that will no longer happen as the Juventus star is set to join AC Milan.

Sarri has turned his attention to 80 million pounds prolific forward Robert Lewandoski.

Lewandoski was terrific for Bayern Munich last season, scoring 41 goals in 48 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, driving them to yet another stellar campaign.

His goals last season, took his career tally to an outstanding 151 goals in 195 appearances for the Bundesliga giants, since joining in 2014.

While Chelsea are ready to cough up that amount for the Polish striker, Bayern Munich have handed them a stern warning that he’s not for sale.

Boss Niko Kovas, was quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “He will not leave this club. We certainly don’t want to let him go.”
