Chelsea fans to see £75 million rated Premier League star Maguire sign big £75,000-a-week deal!

Chelsea target Harry Maguire is reportedly all set to sign a new contract at Leicester, as they look to end all speculation regarding his future.

Despite a relatively average first season at the foxes last term, Maguire endured a top-class world cup which saw his status in the game rise to the next level.

His poise on the ball, his aerial ability and the fact he was so solid defensively led to speculation that Chelsea could swoop in and offer him a move to Stamford Bridge, as they were linked with a whole host of targets.

But they were not the only club interested as Manchester United were ready to do battle with Chelsea and land Maguire, with Jose Mourinho desperate to land a top-class centre-back in the final few days of the transfer window.

But now they may find it more difficult to sign Maguire in the January transfer window, as the Daily Mirror website has claimed Leicester have handed the defender a £75,000-a-week contract to keep him at the club for another five-years.

The deal will almost certainly end links that Maguire could leave this season, but will also mean he could cost more than the £75 million they were quoted during the summer transfer window.
Here is what we think.
Although Maguire had a decent world cup and showed real quality, he is not ready to make that next step up and sign for a big club like Chelsea or United.

Having a good world cup doesn’t take away from the fact that Chelsea and United were not even linked with a move for Maguire before the tournament in Russia started, there weren’t even any rumours, that’s how much both clubs were impressed with Maguire for his performances at Leicester.

Maguire needs a few more years at Leicester before being ready for a move like Chelsea.
