European giants reportedly pulled out of race to sign Man United target

Manchester United have received a huge boost in their pursuit to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as AC Milan have ruled themselves out of a swoop for the midfielder.
Milinkovic-Savic attracted the attention of clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus and AC Milan.

With the summer transfer window shut in the Premier League, the Red Devils and Chelsea will have to wait until January if they want to secure the signature of the midfielder.
Which is why it will come as enjoyable news to both teams that Rossoneri, who can still land players up until August 17, have pulled out of the hunt.

According to the Italian website Calciomercato.com, a transfer for the versatile midfielder isn’t feasible for the Serie A giants at this time.

The newly appointed technical director Leonardo is reported to have said that the 23-year-old star doesn’t fit into AC Milan’s parameters.

“Milinkovic-Savic is a dream for many teams, unfortunately right now dreaming about a player who is worth so much is not possible for us.”

“Even a year ago when I was asked to choose one Serie A player he was the one I picked. He’s the complete modern midfielder, but it’s not financially possible for us to sign him.” – said Leonardo.
