Ligue 1 giants set to raid Man United for £16m-rated central defender

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in landing Everton target Marcos Rojo as Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is keen to offload Argentine star from Manchester United.
According to The Sun, Everton’s manager Marco Silva wants to bring Marcos to Goodison Park but the Toffees are facing tough competition from Paris Saint-Germain who just joined the bidding war with Zenit Saint Petersburg and Marseille.

The Argentina international has been considered surplus to requirements and Jos is willing to let him go for the acceptable price as he is looking to strengthen his defence before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The central defender has spent four seasons with the Manchester-based giants and agreed on a new long-term contract the previous season.

However, Marcos suffered a cruciate ligament injury last season and couldn’t play a huge enough part in the team’s efforts to reclaim the EPL’s top spot.

He has already fallen behind England international duo Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in the pecking order and has been informed he can leave.

Everton are keeping tabs on him as they are looking to sign a left-sided centre-back as Ashley Williams officially left the club for Stoke City.
