Man United make official announcement as shock summer transfer deal is confirmed!

Manchester United have announced and confirmed stopper Joel Pereira has left the club and joined Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal on a season-long loan.

The highly-rated 22 year old has been tipped to become United’s immediate successor to David De Gea when the Spaniard decides to leave the club, and was hoping to be named part of the squad for the upcoming season.

Indeed, it seemed he was finally set to get some regular game time under the guidance of Jose Mourinho after he announced Pereira will not be sent out on loan this summer.
Pereira, 22, was previously on loan in Portugal at Belenenses in 2016-17 before spending last season as third-choice United keeper behind David de Gea and Sergio Romero, but following the arrival of Lee Grant from Stoke, he has been sent out on loan to Vitoria to get some much needed game time.

Pereira, whose contract runs to 2021, made one senior appearance last season in the EFL Cup and will now look to impress while out on loan in hope of a swift return to the club to finally make an impact on the first-team.

Mourinho is looking to add a few more faces to his squad in the coming weeks and United fans may now see a few more faces depart the club.
