Maurizio Sarri agrees to sell Chelsea star on permanent basis

Chelsea Italian manager Maurizio Sarri is willing to let Drinkwater depart on a permanent basis. It is obvious that the English man is surplus to requirement given that the midfield position is well stocked with players supposedly better.

Drinkwater was signed as a midfield enforcer, a role somewhat similar to what he did in helping Leicester win the league but his niggling injuries have hampered the influence he once had and he is now a transfer target for any interested club
.
The Englishman was initially tipped to go on a season-long loan but that is seemingly changing given that the transfer window is gradually coming to an end. German club Schalke have shown interest in the former Leicester ace whose dying career needs to be reignited.

Maurizio Sarri obviously favours Kante, Barkeley, Jorginho and loan boy Kovacic in that three midfield combination. With Loftus-Cheek also in the mix, so going out on loan or permanent transfer should be explored by Drinkwater.

Chelsea will be willing to do business with any club capable of paying close to the huge fee with which the midfielder was signed from Leicester.

The Blues are up against Arsenal on Saturday after winning their first match 3-0 against Huddersfield last weekend.
