Official, photo: Silky midfielder all smiles while sealing Arsenal deal

Alex Iwobi has official put pen to paper on a contract extension deal with Arsenal, the club has announced.

Iwobi joined Arsenal when he was only nine and he has grown to be a key player for the squad.
The 22-year-old was given the chance to shine by Arsene Wenger like many youngsters and even though many were in doubt of his quality, Wenger stuck with the Nigerian internation.

The versatile player, who has been deployed from midfield and wing, has featured in 98 games for Arsenal, in which he has scored nine goals since breaking into the first team squad in 2015.
Iwobi laid bare his delight on signing the deal with Arsenal.

He said: “It’s always been my childhood dream to represent Arsenal, from a young age.

“To get an extended contract is an amazing feeling.”

Arsenal have appointed a new manager and there was rife claim that Iwobi will dropped from the first team of the North London club. Nonetheless, Emery has stated that he looks forward to working with the winger.

“I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us.

“He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.” Emery said of Iwobi.
