The Blues have been desperately
searching for a new goalkeeper after it has been confirmed that Thibaut
Courtois would be leaving the club for Real Madrid this summer. The
Belgium international has his children and wife in the Spanish capital
and is expected to finally make the move to Bernabeu on Wednesday after
failing to turn up to Chelsea training this week.
Chelsea new head-coach is said to be a
huge admirer of the goalie for a number of years and expressed huge
interest in signing the goalkeeper while he was in charge of Napoli. The
goalkeeper is now finally set to link up with the goalkeeper, who is
expected to sign a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
The goalkeeper is an highly rated figure
at Bilbao and his performances between the sticks in La Liga has caught
the attention of Real Madrid and top European sides who almost signed
him earlier in the summer.
Chelsea, who replaced Antonio Conte with
Sarri last month, have endured an underwhelming summer transfer window,
so far only signing Jorginho and Rob Green.
