Serie A giants accelerated their interest in Man United £60,000-a-week star

As a result of Manchester United’s draw with Italian sides AC Milan in the clubs third match of the US Tour, Matteo Darmian expressed his desire to depart from the club in search of systematic football.

The Italian website Calciomercato.com are reporting that the Italian giants Napoli have made a move to bring the one-time Torino full-back back to Serie A.

Darmian has been connected with a host of clubs such as Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus and it appears that the Naples-based outfit are the latest club interested in securing Italy international’s signature.

Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis stating they have made official contact with the Red Devils’ management in a radio interview.

“I do not know, We’ll see. We have asked Darmian on a loan with a right of redemption” – said Aurelio de Laurentiis.

With the transfer window closing in two weeks, it seems increasingly likely that Matteo will not be at Old Trafford for much longer with Jose Mourinho’s side eager to sell to free up funds to bring in further additions.
