Arsenal’s hopes of signing La Liga side Sevilla defensive midfielder
Steven N’Zonzi may have been boosted as a result of the news that AS
Roma officials were caught in two minds over a summer deal to sign the
player.
According to the Italian website Calciomercato.com, Monchi held talks
over a possible deal in America yesterday, however, the club’s owner
James Pallotta is said to have some concerns regarding of a deal.
The AS Roma sporting director had been hoping to get a reported deal over the line this transfer market.
Those behind the scenes have some reservations about the star’s age,
with the former Stoke City man due to turn 30 at the end of the year.
The France international is also believed to be demanding a €3 million salary.
Arsenal, the Serie A giants AS Roma and the Spanish giants Barcelona
are all said to be considering swoops for the Frenchman as they looking
to bolster midfield variants.
The latest reports have claimed that the star has made the club aware of his desire to depart from the club this summer.
