Liverpool fuming! Man United open talks to sign up £44 million World Cup winner Boateng

Fresh reports have ow claimed Manchester United have opened talks to sign Liverpool transfer target Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich.

Reports emerged at the beginning of the transfer window which claimed Bayern are ready to cash in on the German International and would accept a fee of around £50 million.

Boateng has been at the Germans for six years and has helped the club to countless League, cup and Champions League titles, but his performances over the last 12 months have not been at the standard required and it is believed Bayern want to add a fresher, more agile player to the back-line.
And that led to some speculation Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could make a surprise swoop, as he looked to add an experienced leader to play alongside the very impressive Virgil Van Dijk.

But Sport Bild claim United have turned their attentions to Boateng and have begun negotiations to complete the signing before deadline day on Thursday.

Bayern now want £44million for Boateng and are in a good position with United in a race against time to get the deal over the line.

Red Devils boss Jose Moruinho is desperate to add a couple of defenders to his squad in the coming days and is also close to a deal for Colombian International Yerry Mina, who has reportedly agreed personal terms, but has not signed because the two clubs cannot agree on a fee for the 23-year old.
