With Jose Mourinho looking to spend big money to land a new defender or two in the coming days, United have decided to let Tuanzebe head back to Villa, who he spent time on loan with last season.
“This is a big, big club and to represent it again is a big honour for me.
“It made perfect sense for me to return for the season ahead. I know my way around the place now and owe a lot to the great people who’ve really looked after me.
“It was a no-brainer and now the ambition remains the same as last season – to reach the Premier League.
“I believe the squad we have here are more than capable of achieving it and playing at that level.”
The £44 million rated German International is now surplus-to-requirements at the Bundesliga giants and is keen on a move to Old Trafford, as he looks for one big move before eventually heading over to the MLS just like many other ageing players like to do.
It is believed United have flown over to complete a three-year deal for Boateng, as he will become United’s fourth signing of the summer after Fred, Lee Grant and Diogo Dalot all signed up earlier this summer.
And Tuanzebe will be hoping that injury does not ruin his time at Villa, with dreams to one day break into the first squad here at Old Trafford.
