Mourinho: I’ve never been so happy with Pogba

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has never been happier with £89 million midfielder Paul Pogba than he is at the present moment.

Speculation surrounding the supposedly strained relationship between the pair has been dominating the headlines in recent days, with Manchester United even taking the unusual step of denying such reports yesterday.

Speaking ahead of his sides Premier League fixture away to Brighton on Sunday, Mourinho is very much pulling the party line and insisting that he has no problems with the France international.

Pogba was made captain for United’s opening fixture a 2-1 win over Leicester last week, despite only training for three days beforehand, and Mourinho seems grateful for his players effort.

“The truth is we are together for two years and a couple of weeks and I’ve never been so happy with him as I am now, that’s the truth. I cannot demand more from him, I cannot ask more from him.”

”He came here on the Monday, trained three days, I asked for his support, for his contribution in an important match for us when the team had difficulties. He did it better and for more time than we could expect.”
