Unai Emery confirms one more signing plan for Arsenal

Arsenal new boss Unai Emery has revealed that the Gunners will not pass on the chance of signing one more player before the close of the window, this is according to report.

On his appointment as the boss of Arsenal, Emery was reportedly handed a paltry 50million Pounds transfer budget and he has been able to sign five players. Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi all joined earlier.

Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira and Stephan Lichtsteiner are yet to resume pre-season training but they are expected to link up with the squad next week.

While Arsenal have significantly bolstered their squad this summer, they are yet linked with the signing of some players and Emery has revealed that the Gunners are still in the market.
“I am very happy with how the club is working and we are working every day on how we can improve,” he said.

“I am with the players and those who have arrived this week, I am very happy with and I said at the last press conference that if there is an opportunity to try to sign one player, then we are looking.”

The transfer window in the Premier league will be shut on the 9th of August, meaning clubs will be only able to sell and not buy.

However, Emery is fine with the rule.

He said: “For us, the decision to close the transfer market on August 9 is good because we start the Premier League and it is better to close the window when the competition starts.

“They haven’t done it in Spain, or Italy or Germany, but for us I think it is good.”
