Man United keen on
signing Tottenham centre-back Toby Alderweireld in this transfer window.
Mourinho needs an experienced defender to fix problems in defence and
Belgium international is the perfect option. He plays in the Premier
League already 3 years and perfectly knows this competition. Toby joined
Tottenham from Atletico in 2015 with a €16m deal.
He is contracted with the club until 2019 and his release clause is
nearly €60m. His price could increase during the summer as Spurs will do
everything to keep the player. Toby also named in Belgium squad for
the 2018 World Cup and helped his team to win the bronze medals. Despite
an injury, in this season Alderweireld played 33 games and made 2
assists in all competition. He is ready for a new season after
recovering his injury.
Man United already signed Shakhtar midfielder Fred, Porto right-back
Diogo Dalot and Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant in this summer. Red Devils
also linked with Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic after Lazio
demanded nearly €100m for their star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Mourinho’s
basic targets are defenders as he wants to strengthen United back-line.
