Adrien Rabiot has admirer in new Barcelona signing Clément Lenglet

Clément Lenglet wants Adrien Rabiot to move to Barcelona

Adrien Rabiot has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona in recent days. His contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires next season, and the 23-year old defensive midfielder is pressurising the management to grant his request of being transferred.

The club has already agreed on personal terms with his representatives. But the two clubs have not engaged in negotiations yet. New PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel to open to let him go, and the Parisian club have named their asking price, €40 million.

The club’s new signing Clément Lenglet, wants to play with Adrien Rabiot at Barcelona. They belong to the same generation of French footballers, and played for the France U-21 national team in the Toulon Tournament in 2016, helping their side reach the finals.

Lenglet said, “Rabiot is a very good player, I hope to play with him at Barça. It would be fantastic to play with him. I know him well because he’s a friend of mine and let’s see. Young players are ambitious and want to grow and win titles.”
PSG are trying to get Rabiot to sign a new deal. He is demanding a salary that would make him one of the highest-paid players at the Parc de Princes, an annual wage of €7 million. PSG sporting director Antero Henrique is reluctant to match his demands, but they are still in talks.

Barcelona are willing to match his demands. That would be a motivation for Rabiot to leave his current club. The Lenglet factor also comes in. The two players are good friends and Rabiot might not be able to resist the temptation of playing alongside his friend.

The club need to sign a successor to Sergio Busquets. Adrien Rabiot is a very good option, and Éric Abidal should take advantage of his situation at Paris Saint-Germain.
