Chelsea have reportedly made an improved offer for Serie A champions Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani worth upwards of £45m.
The 23-year-old Italy international defender has been heavily linked
with a switch to Stamford Bridge since the end of the last season, with
new boss Maurizio Sarri believed to be an admirer of the Italy
international.
The Blues are believed to have made an initial approach for Italian
centre-back earlier in July, however, their £36m was reportedly rejected
by the Bianconeri.
According to Goal.com, Sarri has agreed to Juve’s demand for £10m on
top of their initial offer and will send the improved bid for his
signature.
Italy international defender still has three years left on his current deal with the Serie A champions.
Meanwhile, Rugani’s teammate Gonzalo Higuain has also been rumoured
with a switch to Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri
with whom he has worked at Stadio Sao Paolo.
Higuain has been identified as a replacement for Alvaro Morata who
has been recently linked with a return to Serie A with AC Milan thought
to be his next destination.
