BON-JOUR PARIS Paris Saint-Germain emerge as favourites ahead of Manchester United to sign AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci

The defender is expected to leave the San Siro this summer after just one season

Paris Saint-Germain have moved ahead of Manchester United in the race for Leonardo Bonucci after holding talks with the player’s agent.

The Italy international is looking to leave the San Siro this summer after spending just one season at the club.

The centre-back has informed Milan of his desire to go and they are willing to sanction a sale of around £35.5m.

That has caught the eye of Manchester United and PSG, with both clubs keen to sign Bonucci this summer.

Manchester United reportedly failed with an opening offer of just under £30m but are being tipped to return with a fresh bid.

It could well be in vain, though, as – according to Le Parisien – PSG are the clear favourites to land Bonucci.

The 31-year-old’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, met with PSG’s director of sport Antero Henrique on Tuesday and talks over a deal are progressing fast.
