Chelsea considering £65 million bid for Willian

Chelsea are considering a £65 million bid from Barcelona for Willian, according to reports.
The Brazilian was one of the top performers for Chelsea last season, finishing with a career-best 13 goals from his 55 appearances for the Blues last season.

He has been linked with a move to fellow Premier League side Manchester United in almost every transfer window since Jose Mourinho took over at Old Trafford in 2016.

However, Willian’s excellent performance against Barcelona in last season’s Champions League fixture at Stamford Bridge has seen the La Liga champions make the first move, submitting three offers for the winger’s services.

It has been claimed that the Blaugrana have already had two bids of £50m and £55m rejected by Chelsea, but according to the Daily Mail, have returned with a £65m bid which is now being considered.

While Chelsea are thought to be reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival, it is thought that they are hoping Manchester United will enter the race to sign the 29-year-old, in order to spark a bidding war.

It is thought that Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho has been trying to persuade Willian to move to the Nou Camp this summer when the pair played together over in Russia at this summer’s World Cup.
