Everton interested in Arsenal striker Welbeck

Everton are interested in signing Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck, according to reports today.

It has been a tough old 12 months for Evertonians, who, after a tough start under Ronald Koeman last season had to watch the miserable football served up by Sam Allardyce.

Those dark Big Sam days may be behind Everton fans, and optimism has returned following the appointment of long-term target Marco Silva, although despite there being just over three weeks until the start of the Premier League season, there still has been no new arrivals at Goodison Park.

However, that all seems to be about to change, with the club said to be in advanced negotiations with Brazilian winger Malcom, who has previously been linked with Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Now, according to The Times, The Toffees are interested in signing Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck.
The former Manchester United forward was part of the England squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals, but only played 11 minutes of action.

He has just one year remaining on his deal at the Emirates, but with Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil clearly ahead of him in the pecking order, he is reportedly ‘free to leave’.

Everton are also looking at Watford pair Abdoulaye Doucoure and Richarlison, although their pursuit of Marco Silva last season will have done them no favours in their hopes of getting the Hornets to do business.
