United boss Jose Mourinho has expressed a keen interest in strengthening the right side of the attack in the transfer window and this has seen Chelsea’s Willian tipped for a reunion with the Portuguese.
However, another player in the form of Rebic appears to have also caught United’s radar after his impressive displays through the World Cup and Bobic has now opened the door for the Croatian’s exit.
“I am very happy about the success of Ante Rebic with the Croatian national team,” he said. “So far, there are no offers available and we’re planning a steady season with Ante Rebic for the new season.
“Of course we know that a lot can happen when a big club makes an offer. We cannot compete economically with the big ones, but that’s nothing new.”
Rebic may not be a household name in European footballer but the 24-year-old has showcased the many attributes which Mourinho tends to favour from his forwards at Old Trafford.
The Croatian’s versatility allows him to play anywhere in the attack and during the World Cup, he has displayed high energy levels with a bold style of play where he has done his job credibly on either side of the field.
Despite this, United do not seem entirely favourites to prise Rebic from Frankfurt this summer with SportBild claiming that the Croatian would prefer reuniting with former manager Niko Kovac at Bayern Munich.
