Petr Cech breaks his silence on his move back to Chelsea

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has said that he is concentrating on fighting for his spot at the club and has admitted there has been no contact from Chelsea as of now.

Sky Sports, a few days back, ran a story that Chelsea are interested in re-signing their former number 1 only if Thibaut Courtois finalises his move to Real Madrid.

Thibaut Courtois, 26, has just one year remaining in his current Chelsea contract and has been firmly linked with a move to Real Madrid, along with his teammate Eden Hazard. Rumours gathered pace after Courtois' heroics in Russia during the FIFA World Cup and Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws even reported Real had offered €55m (£48.5m) for the stopper.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports' La Liga expert Guillem Balague also discussed the aforementioned move and stated Chelsea are willing to let him leave, however same is not the case for Eden Hazard.

Meanwhile, as things are at Arsenal, they have acquired Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen and many have tipped the German to be the first choice, prompting Cech's move to gather pace. The 36-year-old, however, has snubbed off every rumour, suggesting that he has a contract with Arsenal right now and is keen on fighting for his place with Leno.

"I have a contract with Arsenal," Cech told the official Arsenal site. "I am concentrating on this season, on the competition between the goalkeepers because we have plenty of options.
"I'm doing my best to show to the manager that I can be in the starting lineup when the season starts.

"That's my aim and as for the speculation, I don't really follow it. I've had no contact with Chelsea."
