Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has been handed the new number 10 jersey for the 2018-19 campaign.

The Senegal International forward had previously worn the number 19 at Anfield, however, he will now inherit the shirt left vacant by the departure of Philippe Coutinho who made big money switch to Barcelona back in January.

The Senegal international forward becomes the seventh player to wear the number 10 shirt for the Merseyside Reds in the Premier League era, following John Barnes, Coutinho, Joe Cole, Luis Garcia, Andriy Voronin and Michael Owen.

The iconic number has also notably been worn by the Reds legends Sammy Lee, Jimmy Case,  Terry McDermott Steve Heighway, John Toshack and Mark Lawrenson in the past.

Mane has found back of the net 20 times in 44 games for Jurgen Klopp’s side last season, including 10 in just 13 Champions League appearances.

Meanwhile, handing Mane the No.10 jersey means that the Reds have ended up their interest in French attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir who has been heavily linked with a switch to Anfield since the opening day of the transfer window.
