Signed, sealed and delivered! Arsenal fans see brilliant £27 million target Pavon sign big five-year deal

Arsenal have seemingly missed on a £27 million deal for Argentine star Christian Pavon, after he signed a new five-year deal to stay at Boca Juniors.

Its is no secret that Emery is trying to build a side that is capable of getting back into the Champions League next season, then pushing on and trying to challenge for the League title.

He has already signed up Bern Leno, Stephen Lichsteiner, Sokratis, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira, but is looking to add another winger to his squad that will give him pace and ability to take players on.

And he had hoped to complete his transfer business with the signing of Pavon, who had an impressive World Cup for Argentina, despite their early exit from the competition,
Despite the admiring looks from the Gunners, Pavon has decided to stay put at Boca Juniors this summer, reports the Sky Sports website.

His new contract has seen his release clause go up to £37.5m which will likely see Arsenal and Barcelona end their pursuits for the time being.

While Emery is a fan of Pavon, his agent recently insisted Arenal hadn’t made an official approach for him.

But his agent, Fernando Hidalgo, told Radio La Red: ‘There is still nothing official from Arsenal.
‘Pavon informed Boca’s hierarchy about his desire to stay and play in the Copa Libertadores.’

The Gunners have a number of transfer targets Emery would like to see arrive at the club, so missing out on Pavon, who only scored six times last season, would not be a massive blow to his plan ahead of next season.
