Chelsea on the brink of announcing double deal as intense talks begins today

According to a report via football-Italia, Chelsea will enter intensive negotiation in signing Daniele Rugani and Gonzalo Higuain on Wednesday.

Chelsea new manager Maurizio Sarri has been linked with a move for the duo since taking over from Antonio Conte who got sacked last week Saturday.

Higuain is on Chelsea’s wanted list as Sarri seeks to freshen up the squad he has inherited from Antonio Conte.

And a move to Stamford Bridge would facilitate a reunion between the duo, who worked so well together at Napoli.

It is understood Chelsea’s hopes of striking a deal for Higuain have increased in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo joining Juventus.

Chelsea are meeting his brother, Nicolas, who also acts as his agent, on Wednesday to discuss a £53m transfer which would see the Argentine handed a three-year deal worth about £127,000 a week.

Alfredo Pedulla, or ‘Don Alfredo’ as he has been referred to by Chelsea fans this summer, has provided an update on our pursuit of Daniele Rugani.

Rugani has been linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge in recent weeks. He previously worked alongside Sarri during his time at Empoli.

The Italian is highly-rated in Turin, but has been unable to nail down a starting spot. He has been provided with chances to do so, but hasn’t taken them.

According to Pedulla, any potential deal could be worth as much as £45M. That’s £10M more than initial reports were suggesting.
