Argentina star’s price-tag revealed amid interest from Barcelona and Premier League giants

According to reports, Argentine Giants Boca Juniors has set a price tag of £44 Million for their 22-year-old starlet Cristian Pavon.

Premier League Giants Arsenal are favourites to sign Pavon this summer after his performances at the World Cup helped La Albiceleste reach round of sixteen. The Boca Juniors starlet is someone who has always been linked with a move to Emirates stadium. However, it is also reported that Barcelona have contacted Boca Juniors over the prospect of signing their 22 years old winger.

The winger is one of South America’s most exciting talent and he might be on his way to make his mark in European football. Pavon, who currently plies his trade with Boca Juniors was part of the Argentine national team which made it to the round of sixteen.

Arsenal has been linked with a move for Pavon since January but the deal could never make it to the official papers. The reports have again resurfaced this time and now if they are to believed Barcelona have joined the race for the 22 year old winger. Both Barcelona and Arsenal are now set to face a setback in pursuit of the Argentine star.

According to a report published in Marca, Boca Juniors will do everything to keep Cristian Pavon in Argentina. And now reports have surfaced suggesting that Pavon has renewed his contract with Boca Juniors and his release clause has been raised to £44 Million. Recently Pavon’s agent gave an interview suggesting that there has been no official contact from Arsenal.

Speaking to Radio La Red, he said: “There is still nothing official from Arsenal. Pavon informed Boca’s hierarchy about his desire to stay and pay in the Copa Libertadores.”
However, it won’t come as a surprise to anyone if he joins Barcelona and Arsenal as he is looking forward to trying a new challenge abroad and there aren’t any names bigger then Barcelona and Arsenal as of now. He’s surely a world-class talent that would improve any squad in the game. Let’s see how this transfer saga unfolds.

Author’s Take:

Seeing him representing La Albiceleste in the 2018 world cup signs are good for him. His ball control and playmaking abilities were on full view, which is why both Barcelona and Arsenal are very interested in signing him. However, only time will tell if he improves or stagnates at his current level.
