Chelsea submit £90m bid for star wanted as second summer signing

Chelsea have been linked to virtually every player available in the transfer window as the Stamford Bridge outfit aims to strengthen their squad before the deadline by August 9. The latest to be linked to Chelsea is unhappy United forward Anthony Martial. According to the Sunday times Chelsea have joined the list of suitors for the 22 year old French winger.

Martial has been identified by Sarri as an ideal fit for his system as Chelsea are set to lose Star Forward Eden Hazard to European champions Real Madrid. A transfer fee has been packaged by Chelsea transfer Chiefs just below United Evaluation of £90 million.

However the transfer offer is way below United asking price of £90million, United have informed Martial that they are ready to let him leave if any club can meet the £90 million valuation.

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also interested in Martial but are reluctant to pay an inflated fee for the 22 year old. Martial had earlier in June told United of his desire to leave this summer with his agents admitting to reporters that his client has submitted a transfer request.
“After thinking about all the possibilities and settings, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United,” he said.

United fans should be weary about selling Martial to a rival club with Mopurinho having a track record of selling young players who end up fulfilling their potential elsewhere, remember Salah, Lukaku and De Bruyne.

Martial became the most expensive teenager when he signed from Monaco in 2015 in a £58 million deal, but has found first team opportunities limited since the arrival of Sanchez in January.

There could still be redemption for Martial as he impressed in Manchester United 1-1 draw against Club America last week.
