Jose Mourinho sanctions Man United deal for duo, deal to be done before 9th August

As the summer window draws to a close, United will attempt to bring in two more signings.

Long term target Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld remains a potential candidate for the Mancunians but talks over his transfer has hit a wall. Tottenham want more for the central defender after his dazzling rendition at the World Cup for Belgium.

It is understood a deal for the 29-year-old has dragged far too long, and although a swap deal which would see Anthony Martial join the Mancunians and Alderweireld going the other way was considered, it was quickly thrown off the table.

Brazilian Willian looked like he was heading to Manchester after reports of a reunion with his former boss, but Catalans Barcelona is said to have taken quick strides in bidding for the player which leaves Leicester City’s Harry Maguire a considerable option.

Luke Shaw for the bulk of last campaign was drab and a push for the left-back’s replacement followed.

Diogo Dalot was successfully prised from Porto including defensive midfielder Fred.
United still lack in the centre-back area, though Dalot could assume the role, the Red Devils will task themselves in finding the right candidate.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinos has been targeted and the club will try to reach his representatives to dicker a deal that may ease his switch from the French capital.
