Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to land David Luiz from Chelsea
this transfer market as he looks to strengthen Partenopei’s defensive
alternatives, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.
The Italian giants want to bolster their back-line ahead of next
campaign, and with Ancelotti known to be an admirer of David, it seems
he is willing to make attempts to lure him away from the West London.
Luiz struggled with injuries during last season and subsequently fell
out of favour under Italian tactician Antonio Conte and after the
arrival of his compatriot Maurizio Sarri, his future at Chelsea remains
unclear.
Ancelotti worked alongside David Luiz during his stint in charge of
the Blues, and the Daily Mirror believes that the Italian boss will
offer the 31-year-old star an escape route away from the Premier League.
The
Blues appear to be closing in on the landing of Daniele Rugani from the
Serie A giants Juventus, which could lead them to the sale of David as
he looks set to see his second stint with the club brought to an end.
