Man United have opening bid for highly-rated Turkish prospect rejected

Manchester United offered the Turkish top flight Super Lig club Trabzonspor £11.6m [€13m] for highly-rated midfielder Yusuf Yazici, according to the high-circulation Turkish newspaper Haberturk.
Per the newspaper, Trabzonspor owner Ahmet Agaoglu rejected the bid and told Manchester United they would have to return next summer transfer window for the Turkey international.

Agaoglu could be open to selling talented attacking midfielder next campaign but is determined to keep the rising star at the club this season.

The Super Lig side also reportedly turned down an approach from the Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven for their star man. Yusuf has another four years remaining on his current contract and his club are under no pressure to sell.

It is worth remembering that the 21-year-old star’s agent is Erkut Sogut, who also represents Arsenal key man Mesut Ozil and Manchester City central midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Erkut has been offering his client out to a number of Premier League sides and raising the attacking midfielder’s profile.

The last season, in all competitions (Super Lig, Turkiye Kupasi), Yusuf Yazici made 35 appearances, netted 10 goals and provided 5 assists.
