Arsenal news round-up: goalkeeper attracting interest, Swiss star to arrive, Serie A star targeted

Serie A giants linked with shock swoop for Arsenal £100,000-a-week star

The Serie A side AS Roma are eyeing up a summer move for the London-based giants Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech this transfer market.
According to the British public service broadcaster The BBC, AS Roma are interested in landing Cech, as they look for a new number one.

Arsenal’s leaguer rivals Liverpool completed the landing of Alisson from Giallorossi earlier this week, for a world-record £66 million.

Brazil international has become the most expensive shot-stopper in history, and AS Roma are looking to replace him with Petr Cech.

The Gunners are open to letting their goalkeeper leave, as a result of the arrival of German star Bernd Leno from the Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.

Cech has made over 100 Premier League matches in his three seasons with the Gunners, with 117 in all competitions.

The 36-year-old, however, made a host of high-profile errors last campaign, leading to the landing of Leno to become the club’s first choice.

The Gunners are also thought to be closing in on a summer deal to sign Swiss star Yann Sommer, which would all but confirm Petr’s exit from The Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal on verge of sealing surprise deal for compatriot of Granit Xhaka

Arsenal are in negotiations to complete a summer deal for the Bundesliga side Borussia Moenchengladbach ‘keeper Yann Sommer.
According to the Spanish national daily sport newspaper Marca, via Football London, the Gunners are also closing in on an agreement with Yann over contract terms.

The report states that Barcelona are expecting Yann to sign for the north London club, with the Spanish side showing an interest in the Switzerland international.
Sommer impressed in Russia at the Wolrd Cup this summer for Switzerland, making a number of important and stunning saves.

Arsenal purchased Bernd Leno from the German club Bayer Leverkusen this summer, but are expected to sell David Ospina (interest from Besiktas and Boca Juniors) and Petr Cech (interest from Napoli) – leaving a gap in the squad.

Bernd is expected to start the campaign as Spanish manager Unai Emery’s first-choice, but Yann Sommer could come in and contest the spot.

Swiss star played alongside current the Gunners players Granit Xhaka and Stephan Lichtsteiner with Switzerland earlier this month.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper has made over 100 Bundesliga matches since his move from Basel back in 2014.

Arsenal still interested in landing Serie A 23-year-old impressive forward

The Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on the Italian side Torino forward M’Baye Niang’s current situation at the club.
The Gunners were connected with a swoop for the Senegal international earlier this month, and it looks like their interest remains strong, with Tuttosport stating that Arsenal are attentive to the star’s current predicament.

Niang impressed for his country at the World Cup, and it seems his performances have caught the eye of many, with the Gunners among the possible suitors ahead of next season.
The Serie A club are believed to be chasing the landing of Italy international Simone Zaza this transfer market, with the club evidently willing to oversee a shake-up of their attacking variants.

M’Baye, however, is set to be hot property. The Gunners’ interest has been well-documented, but according to these new claims from Italy, the Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice are also in the race.

Italy international Mario Balotelli appears to be still destined for an exit from OGC Nice, and it’s believed that M’Baye has been identified as a possible contingency plan for Patrick Vieira’s side.
