Daniele Rugani to Chelsea as good as done, all terms agreed

Following the capture of Jorginho from Napoli, Chelsea have been long linked with a move for Daniele Rugani of Juventus. But it now appears the Blues have had a breakthrough in their quest to prise the star away from the Old Lady according to reports.

The incessant injury to David Luiz and the dip in form of Gary Cahill has prompted the Blues to go in search for a centre-back and Sarri has identified Rugani as a quick fix for his apparently shaky defensive unit.

Chelsea had tabled a  £35m bid for the Italian centre-back which was knocked back by the Scudetto holders. And now the Daily Star are reporting that the Blues are upped their bid to £44.2m and the deal is expected to go through for the said amount.

The player has already agreed personal terms to join Chelsea – he will put pen to paper on a five yer deal and will smile to the bank for £77,000-a-week in wages.
Rugani is a key figure for the Old Lady but he is not guaranteed regular game time with the Turin outfit. He is poised to link up with Sarri at Stamford Bridge and it now appears as though it is only a matter of when and not if the deal will be completed.

Sarri has reverted to playing with a back four, and so he will be needing only two centre-backs at a time.
