Liverpool still have opportunity to wrap up deal for £50,000-a-week star

The Premier League giants Liverpool target Besiktas central defender Domagoj Vida has been the subject of a €22 million offer from league rivals West Ham United.
According to the Turkish newspaper Aksam, via Sport Witness, the Super Lig giants have turned down West Ham United’s opening bid for the Croatian central defender.

The report states that Besiktas are looking for a sum in the region of €25 million for their key man, following his performances for his country at the World Cup.
Vida was a key player in Croatia’s side as they reached the final of the World Cup for the first time in their history – going on to lose 4-2 to France in Russia.

Aksam states that Domagoj Vida wants to leave the Turkish outfit and has told the club’s hierarchy of his ambition to play in the Premier League next campaign.

The Reds are yet to make an official approach for the powerful defender, with German coach Jurgen Klopp possibly eyeing other targets.

Everton have also been previously connected with a move for the 29-year-old centre-back, but have also not yet made an offer.
