Man Utd offering £30m plus defender to complete final summer signing

Manchester United are close to a player-plus-cash deal for a new signing this summer according to reporter Phil Brown.

The popular radio host revealed during his show Beyond the Pitch that Alex Sandro is set to be United final signing of the season.

According to Brown the Old Trafford outfit has offered Juventus £30 million including right back Matteo Damian as part of the deal.

Alex Sandro has been linked with a move away from Italy, several clubs have the 27-year-old left back on their radar.

Sandro has developed into an exciting left-back in his time at Italy and could be the long-term left back United has desired since the exit of Patrice Evra.

Juventus had earlier put an asking price of £53 million but United will be hoping that the player swap deal would convince the Italian champions to sell.

Brown also spoke on other transfer targets, revealing that United had passed on the chance to sign Ronaldo due to the huge transfer fee involved.

He also updated fans on the Gareth bale speculation claiming that though Mourinho is sceptical about the transfer, club chief Ed Woodward is working hard to bring the 28-year-old to United this summer.

Sandro would be the fourth signing of United this summer after the Old Trafford side had brought in Fred, Dalot and veteran Goalkeeper Lee Grant this season.
